Didn't seem to have effect on the rocket.
I have a 1972 Land Rover Series III Truck Cab/Pick-Up and a 1962 Land Rover Series 2a Carawagon Camper.
If they were deploying a satellite, I'll bet it was dead on arrival.
Apparently, this isn't terribly uncommon. The exhaust trail provides a good path to earth and so, makes a rocket a very altitudinous lightning rod. Apollo 12 was notably struck twice as it headed up and out of the atmosphere. Airplanes and other aircraft are also susceptible to lighting strikes, which are planned for in the aircraft's design.
