Can do the same thing with a piece of good paper towel. I use Tub O Towels in my shop for hand cleaning. Also on parts sometimes. They are made from some tough material. I even save them after wiping hands, after they dry out, then make good shop rags.

I have done that siphon trick tying a piece to string.
