Little vise, modified with higher and wider jaws

    Hi,
Here is a little modelist micro vise that I modified with new high jaws, and that I installed on a wooden block, with orthogonal reference surfaces :

I made it to work small pieces that must be precisely shaped with orthogonal faces. Typically, I use it for making bone nuts and saddles for musical instruments.
The high jaws are useful also to give plenty of angle when filing the slots for the strings.

And here you an see why I installed it on that wooden block, it is to be able to hold it precisely in front of the sanding wheel, to be able to shape the faces well orthogonally.

And here is a new use I found for it on my new engraver's vise :

    Cheers !
    Christophe
