While many if not most in the so-called western world of industrialization with our safety protocols, restrictions and powerful, usually expensive specialized handling equipment to load the vehicle would view their methods in horror. I see 6 men working as a team employing a tried-and-true handling method proven throughout 1000's of years to load heavy objects,
Never try to tell me it can't be done

Okay so this is cool. They've wrapped the log in a rope and they're applying force at the top of the log. That gives them a 2x mechanical advantage. It's like pushing a car. Don't push the car, push on the top of the rubber. You're twice as strong. I think they missed a trick though. If they moved the rope out a bit toward the cut edge and walked one side up at a time, they could gain another 2x(ish) mechanical advantage. So they'd just alternate back and forth between right and left teams. Might be easier on their backs.
Yup. Done similar things. I literally had people watching and then timidly coming over and asking how I knew how to do this? I said learned from an old logger. Learned from my Father, and Opa. And Learned how to think. Respect to these guys.
Frank you are right. How many North American's would do more than complain it's not possible?

My question is why so many enormous logs are laying around an obviously populated and bustling area? My only issue with the safety aspect is the men on the top of the truck are tethered to the log so if one or two lose their grip 2 or 3 could go for a ride (or flight). Otherwise, it's a great method to make a high load on the truck. The guys hooking and blocking the log are off to the side and mostly have a hand on it to allow a quick move to the side if the log breaks loose.
