Not an engineer but worked in engineering department doing a lot of what a proper engineer does at a very very large automotive OEM. I was usual the only non-engineer invited to the party!

No formal training in electronics but I do make repairs and build my own gear at times.

Decent with metal terrible with wood!

I am an Army Brat so I spent the first 20 years of my life growing up around the military. Spent 1/2 my life outside of the USA.

I love target shooting and used to do a lot of my own work. I no longer have access to a lathe or mill hoping to change that in the not too distant future. My wife was a CNC Lathe and Mill Operator. My machine training was on non-CNC equipment some NC towards the end of High School.

Got out of business, automotive and aviation and into medical field. I lost everything I had ever owned a few years back and am starting over in just about every way. Since machines and tools are a hobby and passion not a must have for work I like the idea of saving a dime here and there and love the idea of being resourceful and building my own gear! I love the idea of giving life to an item that might other wise just be tossed out as trash! Re-purposing things is the oldest and original form of recycling!
