Nicely made, but very soft in 24ct.

100 gm of gold is worth about $7800. The ring is ugly, unspectacular and heavy; very unassuming given its value.

Many countries have limits on the amount of currency that can be imported (for the USA, it's $10,000). (One can import more, but must declare it.) Rings like this might be a mechanism for moving large amounts of money without the need to publicize the fact that one is doing so.
