    I'm waiting for this making-a-x-from-a-y trend to evolve into more complex projects with additional steps, by which multiple tools are made by rebuilding the same original item, through a carefully ordered series of construction steps. Like: tool X is turned into tool Y, and then tool Y is turned into tool Z.

    I can't find a functional reason for someone to do this, beyond the complex challenge and the appeal of a Rube Golderg-esque style of toolmaking.

    Well all I can say is it is all Adam Savage's fault for titling the book every tool is a hammer Since books are tools He had to know someone would take him literally LOL
    Never try to tell me it can't be done
    When I have to paint I use KBS products
