I'm thinking something along the line of machine gun timing on aircraft to avoid propellers

I've often thought we should rock our heads from side to side whilst driving in the rain to avoid the wipers obscuring our view.
If you hear the UKs planned regulations for driving its scary. We had using mobile phone and smoking which kid of makes sense now they are targeting the use of hands free and radios as they cause a distraction - it wont be long before the driver is boxed in to prevent them from being distracted by anyone or anything in the car. Wipers are a huge distraction especially when the rain smears the dead flies and grease around until it rains hard enough to be effective.
So question when we get driver-less cars can we then get back to smoking (including joints if so wished) drinking beer using the phone and listening to rock music.
the car will be so safe the driver will become immaterial.
The pure genius of the windscreen wiper method deserves tool of the week surely. Is the intermittent function when the wiper operator is playing candy crush or generally being a nob with their head stuck in a phone and not paying attention.
