Corn stalks are one of the easiest to remove. The hard dried woody stalk allows the tool to get a good grip.
There is no substantial root system. That soil also looks very friable. Perfect conditions for the tool.
It would not work on a deeply rooted dandelion in the hard clay soil here in central Ohio.
There is no substantial structure above ground to grip. The fragile structures above ground is attached to a
very strong, deep root system.
Not trying to be critical of the tool, it is working fine the task shown.
