Interleaving metric and inferial sizes is useful when drilling as well. The DRILL program on my page has an option to find the drill(s) closest to a user-specified size. This necessitated inputting the sizes of the metric drills as well as all the idiot notations and sizes for the inferial drills. Having that data to hand made it easy to write a short program to interleave all the data and produce the drill chart below.
Code:

Thanks Rick, your socket reference table will be a useful resource to me but not for your intended propose. I have to make many special bolts and nuts for vintage bikes and your table will be a quick reference for close compromise sizes.
Inferial? :-) Sorry Marv.
