As an avid 1911 collector, I will have to add one of these, should I hit the lottery.

Those grips don't look like they would do anyone's hands any favors, but it's clearly a show piece. A nice one, at that. Part of the cost of it is probably due the time and frustration of trying to machine a messed-up mess of metals from a meteorite into that, not to mention the foundry work to get all the rock and other junk out of it.
