Good idea, but I do not think that I would risk using that system on a small lathe like a Myford 7 series. It would place too much load on the slot lands.

I see those 1/8 turn nuts primarily as a set-up recovery device when everything is clamped down and then there is a need for an extra between secured nuts. Especially for smaller T slots I would prefer standard nuts, but you have to remember to put them there first.
