    The genius or creativity of the device is the reciprocating mechanism. Yet you purposely obscure
    or leave out any clear indication of how it is accomplished! Offset bearings, cams, reversing motor controller, or . . . !!!

    Apologies for the omission. Certainly not my intention to mislead.

    It uses the stepper motor to drive the lead screw back and forth. It's connected to the lead screw through the pulleys and toothed belt.

    The stepper motor is controlled by an arduino. It runs the motor in reverse to move the tool down, then forwards to move it back to the top of the stroke.
