    Miniature machinst's clamp

A miniature machinist's clamp/hand vise can be a very useful tool when working with very small parts, especially if you need to hold them to sand or grind them.

I made this one from 1/4" key stock. The jaws are 1/8" thick and one is provided with a really tiny V-groove for holding round parts...

    The clamp screws are 6-32 x 1.25".

For scale, the brass bolt clamped in it is a 0-80. This picture...

will give a better idea of overall size although, obviously, it can be made to any size called for by your usage.

One arm of the clamp is purposely longer. This provides a way of clamping the clamp with a mounted part in the workbench vise. All of my homemade machinist's clamps are made with this handy feature.
