Miter guide for tile saw

My gantry tile saw came with a quote un quote miter guide that fit in a t slot and has a plastic arm which is adjustable to 45° the problem is it is made for the wrong side for making many angled cuts also it is very un reliable.
I needed to make several true 45° cuts in some tile I am laying for my wood stove pad SO I justr set up my 12" miter saw and squared the end of a 2x6 then set it for 45 ° the drop piece became an instant 45 ° miter guide for my tile saw.
