    I don't understand how the over-center mechanism in the retractable legs work. i.e. What keeps them locked in the down position?

    It's a lovely bit of woodworking.

    at 16:10 it shows a magnet embedded in the wood at 16:15 it shows the magnet attracting to the hinge
