    If you watch the top of the mold, you will see the excess is still attached to the glass when he turns it upside down the next process would be to grind away the excess and polish the rim

    That's just mold flashing. This guy must get pretty good doing that all the time but just clipping off a blob of molten glass? How can he put the exact amount required?
