    Not just for keeping them closed, although that is the purpose of the spikes. As the body dries out in the 'fridge the eyeballs, (which are roughly 80% water like substance) sink, losing their nice rounded shape, so the curved lens "reshapes" the eye.

    Yes it does, but you need to be very careful with the application, as too much or too close to the edge of the eyelid will show the smoky white residue that cyanoacrylate leaves on the skin.
