    Cool

I wonder if they used this saw to make it.

ANyone else remember a Ford(?) commercial from the 70's where they cut an F150 in half lengthwise?
Custom Doall saw and blade made just for the commercial.
I looked for it online but no luck. Maybe I misremembered.

Did anyone happen to notice the obvious fails in the rt photos to the motorcycle. It looks as though several parts such as the piston and rings the shock mount the shock the air filter and a bolt were replaced with whole parts after the bike was cut in half. It even looks like the frame was replaced

Post #2. Reminds me of a pink panther movie where a citroen broke in 2 and they drove away in the front section while inspector was sitting in the back seat.

Also reminds me of a Mercedes that ran lengthwise into an steel armco railing and all passengers& driver survived despite the railing entering the front and exiting the rear.

The most obvious fail is that this cannot be a MotoGP bike-it is a superbike with a Vtwin engine.

"remember a Ford(?) commercial from the 70's where they cut an F150 in half lengthwise?" Lengthwise? That saw does not have the span for that. Thus the crosswise cut instead.

Agreed Frank but it would be impossible to cut the machine in half with one process with so many different materials. The alloy castings look to be sawn in half whereas the crankshaft shows all the hallmarks of a EDM wirecut process. A lot of work went into that but I agree with the expression of the guy in the background who seems to be thinking what a bloody waste of a good motorcycle. It is not a MotoGp bike as has been pointed out it is a Ducati Corse and most likely has been sectioned as a marketing exercise, At any rate it is a superb piece of engineering so why not show it off.
