Those knee pads helped a lot too.

There's a big scandal around the consumer version of these things. The company that produces them made them a subscription service, because the world is going to hell and of course they did. So you can have a motorcycle airbag safety device that will just not deploy if you didn't pay your subscription.

Greed and corruption aside, there is the element that once that suit saves you, there is a good chance you will stop riding altogether and never buy another suit, so they have to get their money some other way.

On the other hand, your insurance won't cover your injuries if you didn't pay your subscription (premiums,) you cannot legally use the roads if you didn't pay your subscription (license plates,) and you have no place to recover from your injuries if you didn't pay your subscription (rent.)

He didn't need those shins and ankles. He's riding a motorcycle not running track and field. He probably had too many bones anyway.

I feel like there is a significant difference between service subscriptions and what seems to be a trend these days of disabling key product features after purchase.

I was thinking about his right arm shoulder and collar bone and probably the elbow. Possibly a couple of torqued vertebrae in his neck as well

The way I see it if I buy something it is mine forever. I might not continue to pay for upgrades which should be my choice but what's mine should remain mine and function the same as the day I purchased it.

I have a cad program that is supposed to have a perpetual never expiring license I had to store the core on a backup flash drive since nothing comes on DVDs any more but if my machine dies I cannot install it on a new machine without first having it disabled on my old machine, then letting the supplier provide my new machine wiht the key. And recently I fired up my machine that the program now sits on I hadn't used it a quite a while but as luck would have it I happened to open the program and found a message that if I didn't re aactivate it in three days it would expire. That's bull hockey pucks.
