Mouse triggers mousetrap with stick - GIF

Too bad the mouse was not smart enough to turn the trap back over to get the bait!! It does amaze me how often the mice can get the bait and not trip the trap.

I have had mice in the hay barn forever. I don't like using bait as I also have owls and hawks that eat them, so I use traps.

I put my traps in a 8" to 12" long piece of plastic downspout. Maybe that is why the mice haven't become tool users...
