I once covered over 3/4 of a mile pulling the neighborhood kids around the circle. It's one way to get exercise, I guess!

I think Gibbs would use a Macgyver science trick.

Went down a long rabbit hole courtesy of this equipment moving GIF. Turns out I really like videos of equipment being moved. There's a good variety out there of hobbyists moving their machines, industrial moves, fails, and various equipment moving tools.

Here's an Airsled moving a large CNC router. 43-second video:

That air sled is neat! I am wondering if it would pick up an ATM machine at a bank. ( I'm just asking for a friend). LOL

I agree Jon...there is something cool about moving big equipment. I have some Super 8 video of moving my 2, 35' drilling machines from one building to another on air floats. Floors weren't nearly as polished!!...and the dip between buildings was a challenge to grade properly for the length of the machines. The things glided to their home between bollards perfectly right over the anchors. The cool thing was no twist or bow's in them because of the manifold system to maintain an even and balanced lift. Perhaps one day I'll convert them to digital...for the grand kids.

Excellent depiction thgraindoctor. Glad you found HMT.net too.
Hmmmm, being one faced with intermittent and heavy acquisitions, this proves interesting.
Normally it's verboten to move a loaded gantry, yet balloon tires and sturdy [but not fixed] connection between arch and truck makes this reasonable. Wood has a forgiving nature, in a properly designed framework.

Understood on not moving a loaded crane. To address this, I made the beams that the load rests on, so it’s not swinging around in space. Still maybe not the best plan, but better than having it swinging around as I try to move it.
