If I remember right Benny parson said about Rusty Wallace sliding on the front bumper and landing on the wheels "wonce the wheels leave the ground you aren't driving anymore your just holding on." So he just got lucky .he had nothing to do with how the car landed.

Make a mistake at 200 mph and you are bound to fly. When you take out that many cars the overall cost is millions. Motor racing is costly but the good thing is that nobody sues each other for cost of repairs or lost championship points.

I guess the old saying, "keep the dirty side down" (or shiny side up) does not apply in this situation.
