Hey everybody!
I just joined the forum, and looking forward to seeing what's here. I have been a woodworker for many years, and recently began expanding my shop and types of products. I used to built custom cabinets and furniture, but I got tired of the stress involved with building kitchens ( one of my past jobs had over 100 raised panel doors in one house! ) I am now focusing more on custom furniture, wood turning and sculpture. I want to include other materials into my projects such as glass and metal....my wife works with stained glass, and we have produced several hanging lamps using black walnut and beveled leaded glass panels. I have a very complete wood shop, but am needing to get more tooled up for metal work. I do have a metal cutting band saw, gas, arc and wire-feed welders, sand blasting cabinet and misc hand tools, but I need ideas for things like bending jigs, slip rollers, etc. I need to be able to form rod, tube and flat stock into even, expanding/decreasing curves and circles, as well as right angle bends. I don't plan on using material much thicker than 3/8 inch thick, and mostly mild steel, brass, and copper. I have built countless jigs and tools for past woodworking projects, and would like to build as many of my metal forming as possible/practical. Any ideas would be very appreciated!
