When I looked at it I couldn't get close enough to see what it was or the HP but I'm thinking it should be upwards of 30 hp
I have a 26" leblond with a 7.5 hp way under powered. my 17" Leblond is under powered as well it only has a 3 hp on it. I use to have a little victor 16x40 tool room lathe with 7.5 Hp on it now that was the perfect size motor for that lathe
I also have a 1917 16inch Leblond with a 1 hp but the gears in it will only take about 1.5 to possibly 2 hp
I have 3 8hp motors that I could build a rotary converter out of by paralleling them, with enough run capacitors I would be able to achieve a near perfect leg to leg balance at near full RPM then I would be able to run a 20 HP with no problem also a little hack that few know about is if you add capacitors to the machine's motor to help balance out the phases then switch it on and allow it to be an idler say you have a 3x8 converter running a 20 hp as an idler only you can power up an 40 hp machine down stream as long as your cableing and switch gear matches the largest of these motors. It works the same way as using 2 car batteries to start a larger vehicle as long as everything is in parallel
But what I will probably do is have the electric company set a 2nd transformer and have 3 ph I already have a quad 00 service run but am only using 2 of the legs and the neutral.
