I'm wanting to build a belt sander some what like a 2"x42 or what?
Here are some ideas for a belt sander build: Homemade Belt Sanders and Grinders - HomemadeTools.net

Recommendation;
That's a combination I'd avoid. 2" wide isn't so bad, but the supply of 42" length is very limited. Only one sander I know of uses it, like the one I'm sort of stuck with away from the shop. Pick a common and widely priced size, in grit and material for what you want to grind/ sand.
Also, if you reference the build by 'rendoman' and others, longest belts cost little more per foot but last longer by offering more abrasive, which cools off while coming around for it's 'next turn'. At least two wheels are crowned, usually those on each end of the platen, for tracking. Several added control of feet per second by rheostat, DC motor or stepped sheaves. Treadmill motors seem to be a popular choice.
Ill bet there are 100 such machines on this site alone.
Sincerely,
