Hi Gang,

Just discovered this place while doing a search for homemade earth augers.

I've been a mechanic most my life and it seemed they never made the tool or fixture I needed, wanted or could afford. So I've been making and modding stuff for as long as I've been working with my hands. I guess it's in the blood because I grew up hearing how my grandfather would be called on to repair huge machines in the textile industry, in the early 1900's.
I'm lucky to have some of his handtools still.

I work in metal & wood have qualiy tools, cheap ones, many handmade, modded, etc. Like others on this site, I fix what's broken, design what can't be found, & improve poor designs. I always seek out ways to save time & promote repeatability in a task, as with a jig or process.

I have an innate appreciation for & constantly praise the fine craftsmanship of a well designed tool & that which we make from them.

What kind of stuff do you like to build? Post some pics if you have any, I'm sure people would like to take a look.
