    Newcomer

I live near Blackfoot, Idaho. I do some machining, mostly involving the design and build of prospecting equipment. This looked like an interesting site, so I joined-up.

I'm in the process now of drawing up plans for a 24" slip roller. Plan on making the end plates out of 3/4" steel plate. 2" rollers out of either tube, or solid. I'd buy a roller, but there are very few in these parts, and shipping is a deal killer!

    Hi Jim,

    Welcome!

Prospecting, eh? That's interesting - and unusual. Let's see some pics of your work…

What are you planning to make with the slip roller?

I design, and build prospecting equipment. I'm currently working on a jig, and sluice, design that works dry. One design is round, but requires a cone shape. The slip roller will be for making the cone. I prefer working in ABS plastic when possible. I may be able to use plastic once I have a cone that the ABS can be formed to. I have 14 videos of my stuff on Youtube. The channel is under Jim Nelson. I wasn't sure if links to other sites are allowed here.

My channel is here: Rather than post individual videos, which may not interest some members, I'll just post a link to my channel, and people can pick and choose what they want to watch.
