They must be doing some graphics changes. Takes too much time and too much energy to melt and refreeze the ice between each change of event.

The Ohio State University, Schottenstein Center is a multipurpose purpose arena. 2 1/2 hours is record time for ice rink to basketball conversion which typically takes 3 1/2 hours. The time for Ice rink to basketball is typically 4 1/2 . The ice is under the basketball floor. It stays there all hockey season.
