After he finishes his lunch he straps a Chevy pick up on his back with the fridge in the back bed, and carry's them up 3 flights of stairs to the roof. He is doing his part for climate change by not using gasoline.

When I was stationed in Turkey in the early 80's, saw a guy looked a lot like that one carry one up seven flights of stairs to a top floor apartment in Adana, Turkey. Was helping friends of ours move off base. I'd have been 28 or 29. I could not have done that. Decided there and then not to pick any fights with Turks.

I can barely carry my Golf bag. Very impressed. I really enjoyed the comment that the refrigerator was "empty" - good one !

When I moved, once from NJ to WV, then to NC I had help loading a mill, lathe cutter grinder bandsaw etc. I did not have any help unloading them. In WV the garage had 10 ft ceiling so I was able to back in the trailer and off load with a chain hoist attached to the floor joists.
In NC things were a little more complicated, the garage doors were only 7 ft., so I off loaded to the drive then had to cut down the gantry I had made from 2x6's move it in side, reassemble and finish placing the machines.
I had thought my move to WV would be my last but the wife had other ideas. I told her my next move will be in an urn!

I had moved 32 times before I turned 18. Then I enlisted in the USAF, and stayed for 24 years. It eventually cured my itchy foot and over-the-horizon fever. Unfortunately for me, SWMBO wants to move back to NW Florida. I now have 4 lathes, 2(or 3 depending on how you count the Smithy) milling machines, a shaper, 3 drill presses (or 4), three welders, etc. I've done a bit of moving. Lived/worked in 4 countries and 7 states. Owned 4 houses, and lost count of the rentals many years ago. I figure about the time I get the workshop here set up the way I like it, I'll have to move again.

With all that experience, you'd think I'd have all the stuff you'd need to move. Nope. Had to go buy some stuff the other day. Shaper is currently sitting on 4 each 270#-rated appliance skates. Only about $12 each at Steve's Wholesale Tools. Was thinking I could make machine trucks, as I have all these machines, and HSM or MW had plans for such in a recent issue, but I couldn't get to the machines. Now I can get to most of them. Hope to have that all sorted in the next couple of weeks, but this process has been on-going for a couple of decades now. NOT looking forward to moving again.

    Bill
