A few modifications to my Southbend Model B (supplied to the UK under the war effort).
I have never had a mill, at first could not afford one, then when I could I did not have the room for one and now I am to old to bother so everything I post will have been produced on on my old friend of 55 years the Model B.
Mods so far are:
A Myford boring table to replace the crosslide with a new extended feed screw giving 8 inches of travel for milling.
New friction dials to both feed screws.
Vertical slide made from a Colchester top slide.
Independent variable speed drive to leadscrew.
Dividing attachment for mandrel and boring table.
D.C.live ¼ milling/drilling spindle can be mounted in several ways.
Lever clamp tail stock, re-bored with new barrel(back on centre line).
Rear tool post for parting and knurling
Micrometer saddle stop with solid toolpost (topslide only used for tapers)
Quick change toolpost with 8 holders to a Radford design.
Travelling 2 point steady that fits either side of the saddle.
That will do for now I will try and post them all one by one.
