I always carry a small bottle of waterless hand cleaner in my truck. The problem with waterless hand cleaner is it doesn't.
Even the so called cleaners with grit or pumice don't do a very good job for me anyway. I usually pump a generous amount in my palm rub around vigorously then if I can find sand on the ground I rub my hands in the sand to add some real grit to the cleaner. Here at home that is never a problem as my place has very fine almost dust like sand everywhere. Then I just rinse off. Tide wash powder works fairly well as long as you don't use too much water. the original color sic/ flavor Dawn dishwash liquid will do a good job, better with a little sand though.
I used to just use gasoline back when Ethel premium was still sold but the chemically laced unleaded stepped on crap that is sold at the pumps today wont clean much of anything. Diesel will but it takes forever.
If your hands are really greasy try pouring a qt. of automatic transmission fluid
Carrying a few bottles of water with me for the rinse off is another thing I do.
