Back in the Mid 90's, I was part of a ROAD CREW, for moving Manufactured Homes.

The HARDEST MOVE, was up a steep road, our Mac Truck PULLING while our D8 Cat was PUSHING [did I mention STEEP!].

We did the same Tire trick, from OFF LOADING the Cat, [onto tires] to then allowing the MAC to get started up that ROAD.

If we moved a 1/2 mile an hour, I WOULD BE Greatly SURPRISED.

OH, that house? We actually built 25 foot tall PILLARS, which later were back filled with reclaimed DIRT, from other job sites.

That INCLUDED creating the Drive WAY !!!!
That process, by Engineering REQUIREMENTS, had a **time line** so the compacted DIRT, was to **SPECIFICATION**.

Only then, could we build our traditional concrete pad frames, and POUR, EXCEPT . . . THE CONCRETE TRUCK, dropped their load into a GUNNITE PUMP, which filled out (three pads).

The property was VERY INEXPENSIVE, because of its typical unusable terrain, All told, from beginning till HOUSE SET, it was Six Months, Three of them GOING UP that ROAD. [DID I MENTION **STEEP**] ;-)

philip, from the Great Pacific NorthWET, Oregon Division [Florence OREGON was the job site]
