    Brian,

Looks like you had much better luck with the parting tool than did Halligan142 on his YouTube channel.

These are expensive, but I use ISCAR SGFH 19-2 and 26-3 self-grip blades for parting and grooving with single-ended inserts that work extremely well. I especially like the ISCAR GFR 3W-4D chipformer inserts with a central ridge that forms double cavities on the rake face. The metal chips never seem to jam inside the cutting slot because of the way the central ridge curls the chips.

    Thanks for the video,

    Paul

thanks Paul, that part has been in my lathe for a week now and I was debating on how to part it off when I saw Halligan142's video and so I just went with it, set up just one camera and not very good angle and heck it worked nicely. I'm going to have a look at the insert tools you listed. thanks again

    Hi Brian,
For this one, you seem to have a fairly deep hole in the center, you managed to do it with your drilling method?
    Cheers,
