Please accept my condolences. I lived on the Big Island for a year. Six months in Waikaloa, and six months in Kailua Kona. I also visited all the major islands. I was never so glad to get home, back to The South. Those people over there hate those of us from "the mainland" and they are very happy to let you know. Yes there were some highlights but overall, not enjoyable.

I should have said that not all the people over there are hateful. The white residents are a mixed bag. It mostly depends on how long they have been there. Most of those of Japanese ancestry are nice. The natives of Polynesian ancestry are mostly not friendly.
