Its a late model truck so no great loss the plastic and electronics in it would be starting to fail in another year anyway.

It is difficult to image these late model vehicles loaded with computers to ever become classics in 20 or 30 years. The manufactures will discontinue support they will eventually declare "end of life". Perhaps some innovator will construct substitutes then again the abundant regulations will inhibit that venture.

Curious how I don't hear the journalist wondering aloud if the passengers and driver got out safely. But hey, as long as he got to score the footage, that's what matters, right?

Yeah, the lack of any empathy or concern for the people of the truck by the journalist was disappointing. I had to watch it again, and it looks like at least the rear door window was open, and with the people then on dock, I'm assuming everyone was able to get out of the truck, or were already out before it slid in. Fairly concerning to see how quickly it went down, and how deep the water was in that area.
