    Pool noodle watch holder

My watch has no battery. Instead it recharges using a solar cell incorporated into the dial.

During our bitter winter here in LA we often wear long-sleeved sweaters and jackets. These prevent the watch from seeing the sun so occasionally I have to put the watch out on the patio table to soak up a few rays. This means holding it so that it faces up into the sky with its face perpendicular to the incident light. Doing thus reduces the recharge time.

I discovered that, by happy coincidence, a pool noodle has almost the same circumference as my wrist. Two bamboo skewers hold the watch and noodle at the correct angle so the solar cell sees incident light.

"bitter winter" lol. I was there just weeks ago at 32° and the whole shop acted like we'd moved to Antarctica.
Meanwhile, we're somewhat better at bitter, and winter has barely started.

That photo makes it look disturbingly flesh-like...but it's a neat idea!

    Things are different in California...

"cold" means air temperatures below skin temperature

"formal dress" means no cuss words on your T-shirt

"clean air" means air you can no longer taste

    There are four seasons...

    almost summer
    summer
    still summer
    gonna be summer soon

Me smells a rat here or a joker giving us that really have a bitter winter a play. Any pool noodle around here would never sink right now because the water is a bit hard on top of the lakes. That is bitter cold.
