I built one almost identical. The only problem is that it consumes the media very quickly so you are forever refilling it. Otherwise it works great. I have a blasting cabinet so I do not need a portable device for most media but I use it now only for baking soda which is basically a one use only type of media and so I do not want to load up the cabinet with it because you can quickly end up with a load of broken up soda which does not work well. A lot of the broken soda is sucked out by the ventilation.

You need to a way to control the flow of abrasive from the tank into the air stream. There is WAY TOO MUCH wasted abrasive in that video. More air, less media is the key to effective blasting. When you have the air/media ratio correct you can barely see the media coming out of the nozzle. The rust and corrosion just appears to go away, like magic.
