    You might come up with a parabolic reflector which possibly would create a focusing region below the quill. My main problem with just about any light is the intensity, if a lamp is at or near eye level I unless there is a shield totally blocking the LED modules from my sight they blind me. I have 15 9W led bulb shaped lights in my machine shop van the 10 ft ceiling where they are mounted works out good for me as long as I don't have to look up. Actually if I would install another 10 or so I think I could achieve near daylight conditions throughout the work area 15 more to give me a total of 30 and I cold just about remove 80% of all shadowing and still only be drawing a little less than that of 3 75 watt incandescent bulbs.with the light output of 18 100 watt bulbs
