    Wink Power "scrapsaw"

    Hello everyone,

I wanted to build a power hacksaw for a long time now, and finally started doing something about it.
First problem was obtaining a motor with a worm gear reducer. Even ancient rusty ones from the junkyard are very expensive. Then I realized I had one sitting in the workshop since 1995

It is the popular Chinese "dry and wet" grinder, sold all over the world under various brand names and different color.

Since mine had the grinding wheels almost completely worn, and replacing them costs more than buying a new grinder, I decided to strip it off its grinding wheels and add a crank on the wormgear shaft to drive a hacksaw.

This came out so far :

There are still issues, but so far it looks like it might even work
Will post more images and details as soon as I make some progress.

did a few mods, and took a decent camera to make the video Seems better now

To do: Metal base, mount swivel vice, and wire the machine properly with NVR and auto shutoff switches.

    Thumbs up

After a long break, I did some work on the saw, mostly electrical. A few more details, some paint, and we can call it finished
