When I first saw the picture in the email, I thought,"now there is a poor soul who is going to need a prosthetic!"

My first thought upon seeing the picture was "Why don't they just use a 3D imaging camera like they have for 3D printers?" But what this machine is doing is taking a measurement of the stump under specific compression, as well as the shape. Pretty nifty.
