    QCTP Grinder Holder

I needed a way to drill a hole in a shaft that was on the lathe. The fastest way would be to do it on the lathe where it was already setup. I have previously made a Dremel adapter for the QCTP but it is a little fast for drilling so I thought I would try a Dumore type grinder. Here is the result. Two pieces of aluminum, Two brass thumb screws, Two hex screws, a little drilling and boring, some tapping, Two flats on the mill , milling dovetails. The bore is about .001" larger than the grinding head and the two thumb screws hold it tight.

Presto! Instant tool holder. (don't I wish it were instant)

    Cheers, JR

The chuck, bearings, and aluminum hand piece are part of the flexible shaft grinder which was purchased. It is normally attached to the flexible shaft. The flexible shaft then attaches to the motor which is usually suspended from a stand on the bench. In my case I used an eye hook into one of the trusses in the ceiling. My bench is way tool full for a stand!
