I remember the special truck trailers they used to transport the rails for ADRail (Adelaide-Darwin, Australia). As there were roundabouts, the B-double trailers were made so that the rails protruded into the other trailer. As they went around the roundabout at Heavytree Gap, the rails would protrude three or four metres into the outside (left) lane. They ran as many of the loads at night as possible to avoid traffic, but there are always morons who would try and pass on the roundabouts, with occasional disastrous results!
