Very creative. Perfect for a display or game.

Apperently, whoever set up the board doesn't play. Each player should have a white square at his right hand, i.e.,in the starting position, the white diagonal runs from upper left to lower right for each player. In this arrangement each queen is on a square of her own color in the starting position. Thus queens face queens and kings face kings at the start.
