    Remove a broken tap

    Remove a broken tap
Remove a broken tap from hole by drilling tap out with a masonry bit sharpened to form a spade drill
this will not damage the hole.
By placing guide plate on top to guide drill in location
this is a 1/4-20 HSS tap and a 3/16 masonry bit

I have melted the silver solder holding masonry drill tips in. I guess I should buy a metal spade insert to have on hand to copy the profile from.
