    The things we build for rich people. Just think of the maintenance that gate will constantly require and how easily it would be to trap the inhabitants
    while they slept at night. If the bottom of the gate does not have a hermetic seal to the cassette cavity just walk up with a few pails of thin set slurry mortar mix pour it on the bottom of the gate the slurry could drain down then harden in the cavity below the gate preventing the gate from lowering completely. the same thing could happen during a dust storm if there is not a good seal.

    I find it interesting that they only show the gate going up. Coming down it has the potential to kill anyone who have the hands on the gate. Adding a bar sensor to the bottom plate edge would help.

    I do think this is a creative solution to a problem involving no room for a conventional gate. Yes, these people have a lot of money.
