Downside is he needs to keep that front left triangle of floorspace clear all the time, because it's in the swing path of the door.

And just to play devil's advocate...

If the vehicle is roughly the width of the door then he has to keep that space clear anyway to allow the vehicle to pass.

Agreeing with the benefits and restrictions. To me, it's benefits reign.
Also doesn't appear a garage, but entrance to a compound, so storage and parking might not be issues.
