I don’t know what the filler is, but it shouldn’t ned that much, if at all. Looks as though the rot goes higher than the part removed. Aren’t we lucky to have these sort of power tools now?

The first time I saw one being used I asked the guy about them. This was maybe 10 years ago his was a branded and expensive corded unit.
He said they were great with a multitude of attachments including shaped pads for sanding and buffing.
I found an ell cheapo that has served me well for many years now. The one I got at auction was $5.00 also unbranded cheap both are corded. no more than I use them I wouldn't want battery
