Sandblast Cabinet Lighting Tip I use

So the lighting in my blast cabinet has been marginal for the last 20+ years. Since I rarely use it I have just dealt with the low lighting, glare and just not being in the right spot for me to see what I am doing. I had tried several lighting changes over the years but they all take a beating in short order and the light output is severely diminished. This is particularly a problem when using black slag media.

And then I had an idea. I have these small 750 lumen magnetic rechargeable work lights from Harbor Freight.

By placing the light in a small zip lock sandwich bag I can protect the light, make it easy to remove and replace and can position it where ever I like.

The bag holds up to hours of blasting without a single hole. I run it on the lowest setting which gives me hours of time (more than I can take standing in front of the blast cabinet) and really brightens up the inside. I can move it around while blasting to improve my view without having to un glove, open the door and reposition it.

The pictures do not do it justice ad the camera is adjusting for the increased brightness. You'll just have to take my word
