    scorch's Tools

    Scorch, Always working on something.

I have been enjoying the fire-hose of homemade tools on my twitter feed so I thought I would sign up for an account here (I am @scorchworks on Twitter).

I have made a few tools using plans from books/web instructions:
    - Home Shop Mechanic (HSM) EDM machine
    - Gingery lathe
    - Plastic Injection Molding Attachment for the Drill Press
    - Two microwave oven transformer stick welders (120V 60 Amp and 240V 140 Amp)

I have also come up with a few original tools for around the shop. A lot of my newer stuff is related to CNC machines and 3D printing.

I will plan to post some of the more interesting original items that I have made.

I plan to submit more tools (as you saw I already posted my router mill). For now I am still finding my footing here at homemadetools.net.

My lathe is pretty sad looking compared to Lionel Oliver's (He has a great web site and homemadetools has his lathe posted here: Gingery Style Lathe

I am not sure what is next. Lately I have been revisiting some projects I plan to show at the Minneapolis/St. Paul Maker Faire in May 2015.

Lots of neat stuff there, Scorch. I was going to ask if you're doing your own casting, but I see that you are. I've always aspired to aluminum casting, but have never (yet) committed to learning it.

    Nice arc welder, too!

Good luck at the upcoming fair.
